The Strawberry Hill House is a box on
box reinforced concrete home which is semi submersed. This structure plays on
the senses, dark to light, intimate and private to public and open. Shea Hartigan produced the detailed design drawings and specifications for this this house. Originally a small garage, the site was quite restrictive and
required a strategic plan/section to optimize this site. This restrictive site
also required well considered construction details. Great care was taken in the
construction of this house to achieve a finished detail from raw construction
materials. The minimalist concrete lined interior is wrapped externally in
timber and a rubble wall.
